Limited to 67 copies. The handcoloured prints are all originals acquired in Nepal i 1956-59. The black/white are hand-printed in Copenhagen on imported nepalese paper made by paper-makers in Nepal's mountains. The blocks for these prints are now destroyed. The coverprint shows the oldest Nepalese block-print depicting Durga's fight against Mahishasura, drawn and handprinted by Jette Seiden. The first print in the book shows the elephant God Ganesha, the titlepage Krishna. Apart from describing the technique the author also reports on the different religious ceremonies, such as the snake ceremony. These prints were belived to have magical powers, and were nailed to a wall or the door of the house, and stayed there until they were destroyed by age.
