At the front an original photograph of H.C. Andersen, taken by the photographer Budtz Müller (1837-1884) in 1867. The cabinet photograph shows Andersen in full-lenght, sitting in a chair with a newspaper in his hands. (H.C. Andersen writes in his diaries about this portrait October 13 1867: "Nice sunny weather, been sitting for Budtz-Møller". This is the first photographic reproduction of H.C. Andersen in a book.
